Pippi Lee: Polish artist Iwona Liegmann. Graduated in 1993 from the painting unit of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. In 1995-96 she completed MA studies in Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen (scholarship awarded by the British Council). She had solo exhibitions in Poland and Germany and took part in numerous group exhibitions. In 2005 and 2009 she was awarded by the Polish Ministry of Culture and the Toruń President for the projects "Mummy Mami" and "Pippi Lee". In 2006 she was the winner of the Stellwerk Zollverein e.V. scholarship competition. At the moment, she is pursuing her PhD degree with the title: „ Wolf dressed up like a granny..." Works in multiple disciplines: painting, object making, performance, installation. Main themes of her art are perceptions and manifestations of womanhood and her relation to nature.
